Father's Day

On this Father's Day, we first express our gratitude to our Heavenly Father—the eternal, benevolent, and faithful God—from whom we receive life, love, grace, and hope. He never forsakes us, guides us with wisdom, disciplines us with love, and upholds us with His mighty hand.

We also extend our thanks to our earthly fathers. Although none are perfect, God has used them as instruments to provide us with life, care, instruction, and guidance. Some of us grew up with a present father, others with an absent father, and some hold only his memory. Yet, the love of our Heavenly Father endures forever, healing wounds that time cannot erase.

Today presents a wonderful opportunity to express gratitude, honor our fathers, forgive when necessary, and remember that the greatest legacy a father can leave is a life that reflects the character of Christ.

If you are a father, live in such a way that your children can experience God's love, patience, truth, and faithfulness through your example. And if you miss your father today or never had the opportunity to know him, remember that in Christ you have a Father who will never leave you nor forsake you.

“As a father has compassion on his children,

so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.”
