Devotional – Based on Romans 6:14
International Ministry: The Bible, The Manual of Life
Welcome:
Welcome to Day 5 of our devotional series on addressing addiction, brought to you by the International Ministry, The Bible, The Life's Manual. Today, we will explore the profound truth that, in Christ, we are liberated from all forms of bondage.
Verse of the Day:
“For sin shall not have dominion over you,
for you are not under law but under grace.”
Romans 6:14
Short Message:
“In Christ, we are not slaves.”
“The freedom that Christ offers us breaks every chain that binds us. However, for this to be possible, we must remain in Him at all times. Being united with Him means following His teachings and applying them in our daily lives.”
Teaching:
Addiction and other forms of bondage often make us believe that we cannot be free, that we are trapped in an endless cycle. However, God teaches us that His grace is more powerful than any addiction. In every area of our lives—emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual—God desires to show us that in Him we find true freedom.
When we face moments of weakness, God invites us to trust in His transforming power. He wants us to live with the certainty that, in Christ, we are free to be who we truly are.
Personal Reflection:
In what areas of our lives have we felt enslaved?
What lies have we believed about our ability to change?
What truth from God is He calling us to live out today?
As we meditate on these questions, let us allow God’s truth to enlighten our minds and hearts.
What Does God Want to Teach Us Today?:
God wants us to understand that we are not defined by our past nor by our weaknesses. He wants us to live in the truth of our identity in Christ—free and victorious.
How Can We Live It Today?:
“Today, we can live out this freedom by practicing the truth found in the Lord’s Word in Scripture through our daily decisions." When facing temptations or challenges, let us remember our identity in Christ and boldly proclaim our freedom.
Prayer:
Lord, today we cry out for the breaking of every form of slavery. We ask You to strengthen us and give us self-control. Help us live each day in the freedom You have given us, trusting in Your transforming grace.
Amen.

A song that reaffirms our identity and freedom in God.
Application of the Day:
Today, let us proclaim together with faith and conviction:
“In Christ, we are not slaves.”
Repeat this in your heart and mind as many times as you need. Let this proclamation remind us daily of the freedom we have in Christ.
Farewell:
Thank you for joining us on this day of reflection and freedom. May the grace of God continue guiding and strengthening us. We will meet again tomorrow as we keep growing together in His Word.
With Love,
International Ministry: The Bible, The Manual of Life
God bless you.
